Song inspiration for the day:
Do What You Wanna Do (T Connection, 1977)

You’ve only got one life,
So live it cool….

After a week of chasing Americana along historic route 66, it was time to break from road life, reunite with family, and see first hand what-the hub-bub about living west.

But first, pickle at the Sunset Park Pickleball Complex, led to a moment of serendipity, discovering longtime tennis mixed partner Trung (and past collegiate table tennis champ) was mere miles away, leading  to a reunion, meet n greet with Kim, an active table tennis US Open champ, Kim’s wife Barb, and soon pickle part two got underway!  Table tennis minds are wired for bad assery spins n angles, plus a unique dose of smack talk (Viet style, competitive meets laughable, my fav!) making for a most memorable morning.

While Las Vegas, is known for its nightlife, entertainment, restaurants, and casinos, it’s also known as ‘the meadows’ a desert valley surrounded by majestic mountains, a big draw for hikers, bicyclists, skiers and all things exercise.  Crisp mountain air without the humidity, an international community, big city surrounded by even bigger nature…plus a cold front with perfecto temperatures allowed family members to embrace individual tastes for the rest of the day — a baseball game, casino, guitar slinging, what-not this-n-that, reading, writing, and daydreaming art.

Stay tuned for more planned and unplanned discoveries from Vegas…
